Industrial Services
Hugh Edward Sandefur Training Center, Inc. is a Community Rehabilitation Program that operates a full scale manufacturing facility in Henderson, Kentucky. We offer a variety of industrial services that range from the manufacturing of corrugated and chipboard packaging products to the assembly and packaging of small parts. Some of our largest customers include Rayloc, Gibbs Aluminum, Berry Plastics, Hunter Douglas, Ferguson Enterprises, Dana Corp., Atlantis Plastics, and General Electric-Owensboro. Our industrial base is found not only in Henderson but we also have customers in Madisonville, Morganfield, Owensboro, and Evansville. Some new accounts are located even farther away in cities like Cambria, WI, Miami, FL, Royersford, PA, and West Chicago, IL. As you can see, Hugh Edward Sandefur Training Center, Inc. is quite diverse in its marketing capabilities. Our corrugated operation is comparable to other companies that manufacture packaging products. We have the capability of providing our customers with ten (10) cartons to one hundred thousand (100,000) cartons per order with several printing options. We have the same capability in producing large volumes of die cut packaging. Another facet of our corrugated department is the manufacturing of corrugated and chipboard partitions as well as flat pads used in the packaging of finished products.
We also operate a woodworking shop that currently builds custom pallets and wood packing crates. This is a fully operational workshop with tablesaws, bandsaws, radial arm saws, drill presses, pneumatic nail guns and staplers. Some assembly work is also done in this area as space permits. Another service that we provide customers on occasion is contract labor. We will send our employees to the customer’s work site and charge the customer an hourly rate only while continuing to carry the employee on the payroll. We provide the workers compensation and all additional expenses. The customer simply maintains a record of the time worked and reports that figure to the accounting department at Sandefur Industries. Quality products and on time deliveries are two more services that we provide that are often overlooked when talking to potential customers. We experience very few problems with quality even though we produce hundreds of thousands of parts each month for our customers. Our customers are confident that when they give us a job that it will be done correctly and will be delivered on time. The bottom line is that Hugh E. Sandefur Training Center, Inc. has a strong reputation of delivering a variety of quality services to its industrial customers at competitive prices and delivering these services when they are needed. Many companies look to Hugh E. Sandefur Training Center, Inc. for the solutions to their manufacturing and packaging needs.

In conjunction with meeting the needs of our Industrial Customers we must also take into consideration the persons who work to meet those expectancies. Our people, who are our most important product, often succeed because of the special environment and variety of services that are provided to them while they are working. Individualized Program Management and Counseling is available to each individual enrolled. Close supervision and goal monitoring is offered in a variety of work settings. Some individuals may need extensive assistance to make a school to work or non-work to work transition. Others may make these transitions just fine but may need support in the areas of Adult Daily Living Skills, academic refreshers, personal management or a number of other individual programs that will enhance their employability at Hugh Edward Sandefur Training Center, Inc. or in the business/industrial work place.
Other regularly scheduled activities include our annual Christmas party, bowling league, basketball and visits to a number of community locations. There are also many offshoot programs that have become available as a result of internal program involvement at Hugh Edward Sandefur Training Center, Inc. Another service that is currently provided to our
customers is the assembly and packaging of small parts. This area
includes small assemblies using a variety of presses and fixtures as
well as power hand tools. One of our largest assembly jobs is just
done by hand so you can see that the possibilities are almost unlimited
as to the options that are available to our customers.
Hugh
Edward Sandefur Training Center, Inc. also offers a number of non-work related
activities. Persons can extend themselves into the community
through our athletic, social and cultural offerings. Most of
these activities occur in integrated community settings which provide
a rich and rewarding experience to all involved. One of the
newest program additions is our art program. This program offers
our artists the opportunity to produce art in a variety of mediums
while giving them exposure through scheduled art exhibits. This
year there will be a juried exhibit were our artists will vie for the
opportunity to have their original work go to a limited edition print
series.
